Ojo is pure cinematic drama. Unlike traditional fine-dining rooms that feel stiff or overly serious, Ojo channels The Standard’s signature cheeky, retro-luxurious energy. It draws a stylish crowd of international travelers, fashion-forward locals, and couples celebrating milestone dates. Prime sunset tables (between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM) book out weeks in advance.
“Ojo” translates to “eye” in Spanish, inspired by the sacred Ojo de Dios (Eye of God) talisman rooted in Mexican folklore. The name reflects its setting on the 76th floor of The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon. Conceived by designer Ou Baholyodhin, the interior blends 1970s retro-futuristic glam with pre-Columbian mysticism. The space drips in liquid gold, amber, and jewel tones, anchored by curved velvet banquettes and a tiara-shaped crystalline pink bar. Floor-to-ceiling glass wraps the 76th-floor dining room, which connects to Bangkok’s highest open-air dining terrace.

Absolutely. It is widely considered one of the best romantic dining destinations in Bangkok. The combination of the glamorous retro-futuristic gold and pink decor, the stunning sunset views, and the upscale modern Mexican sharing-menu makes it highly sought after for anniversaries, proposals, and special dates. It is highly recommended to book a window seat well in advance for these occasions.
Ojo serves elevated, modern Mexican cuisine conceptualized by award-winning celebrity Chef Francisco "Paco" Ruano. It moves away from standard Tex-Mex and focuses on authentic coastal and ancestral Mexican flavors using high-end ingredients. Signature items include their Mezcal-cured Kampachi Ceviche, elevated Guacamole with shrimp oil, and BBQ Wagyu Asada Tacos.
Golden Hour & Sunset (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM): Soundtrack: Downtempo Latin grooves, tropical beats, afro-house, and bossa-infused ambient soul. Atmosphere: Sophisticated and romantic. The volume is dialed in perfectly so couples and small groups can chat effortlessly while taking in the sunset over the Chao Phraya River and Sathorn skyline. Prime Dinner & Late Night (8:00 PM – 11:30 PM): Soundtrack: Resident and guest DJs take over, gradually shifting the energy toward upbeat nu-disco, melodic house, and contemporary Latin-electronic rhythms. Atmosphere: Lively, chic, and social. Diners linger over mezcal flights and agave cocktails at the tiara bar or open-air terrace as the dining room transforms into a vibrant lounge scene. Signature Events & Pop-Ups: Ojo regularly hosts high-profile themed nights and cultural celebrations—most notably their annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party, Cinco de Mayo, and international DJ / guest-bartender takeovers. These feature late-night extended hours (up to 2:00 AM), guest percussionists, and dedicated Latin dance sets.
